Hawaii Kai Boat Club located along the marina fronting Island Brew Coffeehouse in Hawaii Kai Shopping Center at 377 Keahole Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96825.
Morning start time: 9:00AM
WHAT TO WEAR
All students should bring (or wear) swimsuits, a towel for drying off, and a change of dry clothes or a spare tee shirt. If possible please mark the clothing with a waterproof marker so we can identify the owner. Because there are no secure places to store valuables we discourage student from bringing large amounts of money, cell phones, iPods, and other devices to class.
Students must wear waterproof sunscreen SPF30 or higher.
Optional gear includes: Reef walkers, gloves, helmets, and sunglasses.
Security for bags and belongings will not be provided.
Life jackets are required to sail on the water as safety precaution and required by the Coast Guard rules. We recommend type III life jackets (vest type) so students can have greater mobility while sailing. Life jackets must be properly sized per each student and have their name marked in permanent marker.
Inform Sailing Coach if a student will not be attending class.
LEAVING AT THE END OF THE DAY
All boat club equipment be stowed at the end of each day. All students must stay until the equipment is broken down and stored properly. If a student needs to leave before the regular finish time, please inform the Sailing Coach when the student must be dismissed by phone or note. This will help ensure the student is back at the dock and ready to leave on time.
