Registration for Troop 777 Sailing Session - March 1, 2020

PLACE

Hawaii Kai Boat Club located along the marina fronting Island Brew Coffeehouse in Hawaii Kai Shopping Center at 377 Keahole Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96825.

Afternoon finish time: 12:00PM

COST
$20 per scout

WHAT TO WEAR
All scouts should bring (or wear) swimsuits, a towel for drying off, and a change of dry clothes or a spare tee shirt. Because there are no secure places to store valuables we discourage scouts from bringing large amounts of money, cell phones, iPods, and other devices.

Please wear waterproof sunscreen SPF30 or higher.

LIFE JACKETS
Life jackets are required to sail on the water as safety precaution and required by the Coast Guard rules. We recommend type III life jackets (vest type) so students can have greater mobility while sailing. Life jackets are available at the club to borrow for those who do not own one. Optional gear includes: Gloves, helmet, sunglasses, reef walkers or sailing booties.

LEAVING AT THE END OF THE DAY

All boat club equipment be stowed at the end of the day. All scouts must stay until the equipment is broken down and stored properly. If a scout needs to leave before the regular finish time, please inform the Sailing Instructor. This will help insure the scout is back at the dock and ready to leave on time.

CLASS RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

Pushing, rough-housing, running on the docks, jumping off the marina wall, and wrestling are not allowed.

Foul language is not allowed on or off the boats - EVER.

Sailors must heed to all vessels using the channel in front of the docks. Sailors must tack away from and stay clear of an approaching vessel and its path.
